VW T1 Bus | Steering column lower seal | 12/52-07/67 | 211 415 617
This seal is located at the bottom of your steering column and prevents dirt and moisture from entering the steering mechanism. Over time - the rubber becomes porous and loses its grip - allowing water and sand to enter. Replacing it is simple and inexpensive - and it prevents severe rust on the steering gear. Combine this with a new steering column bush if it is also worn.
