Strainer for the fuel tap on the fuel tank, with OEM number 111 209 147A, for the VW T1 Bus, T2 Bus, Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3 and Type 181. The strainer filters dirt and rust particles out of the tank before the fuel flows into the line to the carburettor. Replacement is common in case of contamination or when overhauling the fuel tap.
